French Quarter

On the 1st we headed downtown again to tour around and lunch. It took us FOREVER to find food...bars everywhere restaurants not so much. Plus the 3 restaurants we found had like 30 min waits. We finally ate at a place called Muriel's at Jackson Square. It was a little too fancy for our taste but it was food. Then we took a carriage tour around the French Quarter. After that we went to Cafe du Monde for the famous bengeits (sp?). They were good...tasted like funnel cake to us. Then we shopped around and walked back to the car to make sure it hadn't been towed. Then we drove around the Garden District to look at all the old houses.

We went back to the hotel after this to clean up for dinner. We ended up going to a place down the road from our hotel and it was very good! Afterwards we decided we didn't want to have a big party night cause we knew we would the day of the Sugar Bowl so we went to Walmart and bought a deck of cards and the game Connect Four and played that all night! Aren't we party animals?
